World Book Day
This year we had to celebrate World Book Day a little differently... but that didn't stop us! On Friday the 5th March, the students at The Howard School celebrated World Book Day 2021 with a screen-free day. There was a variety of World Book Day inspired activities for all students to participate in and to compete against each other in the House Championship!
Students from all year groups had lots of fun being creative by taking photos of themselves reading in strange places, creating book characters out of potatoes, competing in a baking challenge by baking delicious book related cakes and treats, building a book scene in a box, making art displays and flip books and so much more!
Students were also able to print off a digital voucher that enabled them to pick a WBD book for free or receive money off a selection of WBD books.
Houses were ranked dependent on the number of completed activities submitted. Results are as follows:
1st: Attenborough House with 106 submissions, earning 50 Championship Points
2nd: Hawking House with 104 submissions, earning 40 Championship Points
3rd: Turing House with 85 submissions, earning 30 Championship Points
4th: Tull House with 75 submissions, earning 20 Championship Points
5th: Pankhurst House with 55 submissions, earning 10 Championship Points
