We prioritise the development of our staff at The Howard, having restructured our working week to allow for dedicated professional development every Friday afternoon for our teachers, and in partnership with the Medway Teaching School Alliance (MTSA) deliver a number of courses for staff from all schools in Medway and beyond. This includes our OLEVI accredited programmes, facilitated by dynamic and experienced school leaders and teachers. Whether you are looking for ideas to enhance your practice, challenge yourself to improve your classroom skills or want to influence teaching and learning beyond your classroom; these programmes will support you in developing your expertise.
This programme is open to teachers with the potential and capacity to deliver consistently good and outstanding lessons and who will take key ideas and skills back to their school to share, or even lead, on some teaching and learning initiatives either within their department/faculty or across the school.
We know that after a period in the classroom post PGCE and NQT years, we all like to take the time to reflect on our practice. So whether you are in your second year of teaching, returning to teaching or want to refresh your classroom skills, the ITP will meet your needs.
Dates for the programmes are shown below. If you wish to discuss these or any other aspect of staff development please contact Angela Neech, Assistant Headteacher, at the school. To apply for the OTP or ITP course, please contact Sarah Smith at the MTSA via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
In partnership with the Chartered College of Teaching, we are proud to invite you to take part in a programme with Professor Chris Brown to explore Research Learning Communities and the opportunities they present. To book onto this programme, please follow this link.
