Dear Parents/Carers

Year 8 Subject Evening

You are cordially invited to attend a Subject Evening for Year 8 on Thursday 15 May 2008 from 3.00pm to 8.00pm in the Main Hall.  The purpose of this evening is for you to meet with the members of staff who teach your son and to receive progress reports from them at first hand.  We believe that the benefits derived from such consultations are most valuable and you are urged to make every effort to attend.  We would prefer your son to be present with you.

The Subject Evening is organised on an appointment only basis and your son should take this form with him to every lesson over the school days leading up to the 15 May 2008.  It is important that you let your son know what time you can be here for your first appointment and this time should be noted in the box provided at the top of the appointment sheet.  Please bear in mind that you will probably be engaged in consultations for approximately an hour and a half and, therefore, since the Subject Evening closes at 8.00pm you should schedule your arrival time no later than 6.30pm.  Obviously if you can attend from an earlier time, it will make the timetabling of all the evening’s appointments for staff that much easier.  In addition if you wish to make an appointment to discuss your son’s Additional Educational Needs please telephone Mrs Greening on 01634 388765.   

Although the purpose of the Subject Evening is primarily for consultations about academic progress and setting subject specific targets if you wish to enquire on the evening about general matters concerning your son, then it would be wise if you make an appointment with the Form Tutor in the first instance.  Please return the reply slip below by Tuesday 6 May 2008.

The school will close at 2.20pm on this day.
